Modern Periodic Table.
There is a link to the periodic table at the
bottom of each page.
It is important because the periodic table shows all the elements.
The elements are arranged in order of increasing atomic number.
The columns (going down) are called groups.
The rows (going across) are called periods (hence periodic
table).
Elements which are metals (shown as brown or pink) occur on the left
and in the centre of the table.
Elements which are non-metals (shown as blue) occur on the right.
